About the role
Working closely with the Board of Directors of HPC and the CEO you will take responsibility for the operational management of the Pier.
About You
You will have a track record of successful operations management in the leisure, entertainment or visitor attractions sector, preferably including working with volunteers. You will be familiar with external suppliers across a broad range of events and activities. You will have experience of operating a visitor centre or similar public space. You will be self-motivated and able to work independently. You will bring a creative approach to the execution of the Pier's product programme, finding innovative ways to ensure that the goals and required business outputs of the programme are delivered.
Job Summary:
To build relationships with external suppliers to create the partnerships necessary to deliver great visitor experiences and make money for the Pier.
To manage the operation of the Pier, providing support and direction to ensure that staff are motivated, service levels are excellent and the financial performance is in line with the business plan.
To work closely with the Learning and Education Team to deliver shared objectives, thereby ensuring that the ambition of the Activity Plan to deliver increased heritage learning and participation opportunities is effectively met, and that the opportunities for learning and participation linked to the events programme are fully realised.
To provide training, advice and support to Volunteers and to recruit for, and organise, the volunteer activity necessary to deliver the events programme.
To monitor the relevant outcomes and to report regularly on progress against objectives.
