Helicopter search as people seen leaving lorry in Icklesham

Four people, including a lorry driver, were arrested in Icklesham today (Monday, August 3).
Police were called to the A259 at around 3.40pm following witness reports of a number of people getting out of the back of a lorry parked in a layby.

The police helicopter was deployed as part of the investigation.

A Sussex Police spokesman said four men, including the lorry driver, have so far been arrested.

Police told the Observer the incident is ongoing and no further details are currently available.

The Pier -  People are wondering and rumour has been busy at work as to the cause of the cessation of labour at the pier.  The reason is very simple and satisfactory.  The contractors, Messrs. Laidlaw, are awaiting the manufacture of some iron work which is being proceeded with at Glasgow.
